Each of these bracelets is a true labor of love, created over several days using traditional leatherworking techniques and careful attention to detail. The process begins by wet-forming the leather directly around the stone, shaping it by hand for a perfect, custom fit. While the leather is still wet, the design is hand-tooled around the stone, locking in texture and character from the very start.
As the stone setting dries, we move on to tooling the bracelet itself, building layers of detail throughout the entire piece. Once tooling is complete, the bracelet is hand-painted, and this is where the piece truly comes to life—each color added thoughtfully to enhance the stone and design.
After the paint dries, a resist coat is applied to keep the antique from absorbing into unwanted areas and to help the colors stay rich and vibrant. A top coat follows, sealing in the color while also conditioning and protecting the leather.
Finally, the medallion is hand-stitched to the bracelet, securely holding the stone in place and bringing the entire design together. The finishing touch is the addition of snaps at each end, completing the bracelet and making it easy to wear.
